Amazing Trip to Cebu, Manila and Puerto Princesa (Palawan)

Dear all Local Guides,

This is Sak from Cambodia. Last week, I paid my travel visit to Manila, Cebu and Palawan. This is very first visit to Philippines. I would like to share my photos and experiences related to the attraction I have been.

Firstly, I would like describing my travel – how to get there from my home country, Cambodia. Due to promotion offered by Cebu Pacific Airlines, my team and I decides to book the flight from my heritage City, Siem Reap to Manila with price of 113USD (round-trip). My friends have given the tips that Cebu Pacific Airlines mostly delayed the flights. This is very awful for budget traveler like us. Besides the root flight, we have booked the extra flight from Manila – Cebu due to the fame of mentioned activities. Our flight from Manila – Cebu was 2 hours delayed. This is so sad 😦 😦

This is how I spend 4 Days 3 Nights in Cebu and Palawan. Here are the tips.

– Cebu

Cebu is in fame of many attractions such as own history beach activities, shark visit, canyoning, nature.. etc.  Firstly, we landed at Mactan Cebu airlines for our first stop in Cebu. The airport is spacious hall where we can access to baggage claim easily.

The arrival is counted as our first day. We decided to book the half day city tour from Island Trek Tours in order to get to know know about the history of this gem city.

Well, Cebu is fascinating and stunning. Besides history said it all.

DAY 1 (Half Day City Tour in Cebu)

Yap Sandiego Ancestral house was our first stop. Even it is quite old, but the generations maintain it well. I could learn more about it and explore the antique housewares collection.

Next, we walked to Heritage of Cebu Monument , 50 meter away from Yap Sandiego Ancestal House. The structure of combination is quite interesting.

After having breakfast at my hotel, I was transferred to cruise wharf. We purchased the ticket and wait for our departure. It is fully packed by Chinese and Korean tourist. I could see very less westerners. The ticket costs 300 RMB (around 45USD).

We stepped into center for security check and found our departure gate. Along the way to the cuise, there are alots of tent stalls selling souvenirs and fruit. You can bring foods and drink on the cruise.

There are a lots of queuing boat for the cruising trip. Our boat is fully occupied and introduced by our guide speaking in Chinese and English,

Being heard by many travelers, I was thriving to visit magnificent Gui Lin located in Guang Xi province, China.

Travelling from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, I was stunned since this was my first visit while transiting in Bangkok and Nanning all the way from here. But it is worth to experiencing the view of GuiLin after my arrival.

Ho Chi Minh(Saigon)-Nha Trang-Dalat(Vietnam)- Day 3

Day 3 is approaching now. It is time to explore Nha Trang city again to see such a beautiful scene, Champa City(former Champa country). Tasting new meal, I started to enjoy new food in Hai Au Restaurant such as Western breakfast and Vietnamese meal.

After finishing breakfast, we went to visit Long Son Pagoda located on the small hill in Nha Trang province. Most people went there for wishing and praying for the best luck at the time they visited.

We could see the golden Buddha inside as well as the big beautiful Buddha of this temple on the top of a hill.

After this, we were heading over to visit former Champa temple where we could see a brick-made temple with many performances there.

Ho Chi Minh(Saigon)-Nha Trang-Dalat(Vietnam)- Day 2

After well sleep, we got up and started our new day to travel to visit Nha Trang province. I really enjoyed seeing the view along the way there.

To arrive Nha Trang, we needed to spend a day long drive on the bus. Honestly, it was a bit boring to me. But the bus stopped many places for us to enjoy local product and taste new food.

Finally, I arrived Nha Trang city, a quiet city comparing with Saigon city. I could see a provincial symbol statue. We ended up for dinner in local restaurant with many kinds of dishes.

Ho Chi Minh(Saigon)-Nha Trang-Dalat (Vietnam)- Day 1

Frankly, I really love travelling. Travelling is my life. At the time graduation from high school, I had never experienced solo travel as well as international travel. But I still imagined that one day I would have a chance to work and save money to spend for travel to anywhere I wanna go.

After having been working in private company for 2 years and a half, I finally made a decision to travel to visit Vietnam in May 2013 by Srey Rath Tour, local tour. It costed only 230$ for 6 days 5 nights trip. It was reasonable, wasn’t it? I continuously started counting the forthcoming day. I didn’t prepare much as it was solo trip joining with other in the same group. Just thinking, it already excited me.

May 11th, 2013: Clock was alarming my sleep. I got up very rush in order to prepare myself and took a meter taxi to gather in front of Srey Rath Tour office.

Along national road No1 from Phnom Penh, every moment started to excite me. Around 3h and a half, I finally reached Bavet International Checkpoint for immigration check to Vietnam.

After passing through Bavet International Checkpoint, I was finally on Vietnam land where the checkpoint was next to Bavet International Checkpoint.

After immigration check, I resumed to travel to Saigon city known as Ho Chi Minh city. On the way there, I could notice that the infrastructures in this country is better than Cambodia’s as well as crop and rice plantation. Being in the bus for almost several hours, I sometimes slept and got up to see development in this country. Honestly, during my time in the bus or car, I mostly feel sleepy and asleep. They are hypnotics to me .

Province Town

After around 3 hours drive, our bus finally reached Saigon City where we could see many scooters were being driven along the way. I could say it might be third city of many scooter drivers in the Asia after China and Taiwan. It is probably because of safety and convenience. We started to check in and have first lunch there.

It was a big room for 2 paxs. There was a sofa set with 2 beds 🙂

After having lunch, we started to explore Saigon city. First interesting place that I visited was Dam Sen amusement park.

Dam Sen Amusement Park

There are variety of activities and games that we can enjoy such as 4D screening, Ice house, water park, garden..etc. Actually, we didn’t need to pay for entrance fee but we need to pay for game fee.

Without hesitation, I experienced ice-house. I needed to wear thick jacket to protect with very cold temperature for keeping ice frozen.

It was extremely cold in the ice-house

Big Wheel

After walking around in Dam Sen Amusement Park, I stopped by to have dinner on the dragon boat. Food was so yummilicious that still made me miss the food over there.

We had a dinner on the dragon boat.

The view also amazed me at night. Moreover, there was a wedding reception party held over there as well. The bride and groom were so beautiful and handsome with their wedding clothes and make up.

After one day being tired on travelling on bus and enjoying first place and dinner, we were heading back to hotel and had a very tight sleep. Good Night.

That’s all for my first day in Saigon. Day 2 is coming soon.
